What to Do in Case of a Mental Health Emergency?
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 000.
The Victorian Government Mental Health Services website contains useful information on mental health care in Victoria. There are also links to the Crisis Assessment Treatment Teams (CATT) throughout the state. These services operate 24 hours a day and provide urgent community-based assessment and short-term treatment interventions to people in psychiatric crisis. These teams can provide telephone advice in the event of a mental health emergency.
Lifeline (13 1144) provides a 24-hour helpline, which may also be helpful.
Medical Emergency
In the event of a medical emergency, please call 000 immediately. Emergency services are best equipped to provide urgent medical assistance and ensure you receive the care you need as quickly as possible.
If you have medical concerns in relation to your care that are not urgent, please contact your treating medical professional directly. They are best placed to provide advice, assess your situation, and guide you on the appropriate next steps.
After-Hours Care
If you need to contact one of the team after hours, please text your contact details and brief message to 0413 56 0719 and a member of the team will return your call as soon as possible.
Please note, this is not an emergency service. If you are in an emergency situation, please call 000.
